Breathe, move and reconnect with yourself through a unique yoga experience on the calm waters of Pilot Bay.
Whether you’re new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, classes will be tailored to support different abilities and confidence levels.
Your SUP board and all required equipment are provided, so you can simply arrive ready to enjoy your time on the water.
Boards are securely connected to an anchored system, allowing you to move, breathe and explore with confidence.
Your experience begins on shore with a safety briefing, an introduction to the equipment and time to become comfortable on your board.
Once securely connected to the anchored system, you’ll be guided through mindful movement, balance and breathwork, with options offered to suit your experience and confidence.
Wear comfortable activewear or swimwear and bring sunscreen, water, a towel and a change of clothes. Your SUP board and required equipment are provided.

Meet Your Instructor — Darlene Penberthy
Darlene is an accredited SUP Yoga teacher with more than 500 hours of yoga training and 30 years of combined yoga and paddling experience. Having paddled thousands of kilometres on the water, she brings a strong foundation of water awareness, safety and confidence to every class.
Her teaching blends mindful movement, breath and self-enquiry, creating experiences that feel supportive, grounded and accessible. Whether you’re stepping onto a SUP board for the first time or looking for a new way to explore your yoga practice, Darlene will guide you with care, patience and a genuine love of being on the water.

No. SUP Yoga is designed to welcome beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners and paddlers. Guidance and options will be provided throughout the experience so you can participate at a level that suits your ability and confidence.
Yes. Your SUP board and all required equipment are included in your booking. Bringing your own board is not necessary.
No. Boards are securely connected to an anchored rope or dock system, helping the group remain together and in position throughout the class.
Classes are held on the calm waters of Pilot Bay in Mount Maunganui. Your booking confirmation will include the exact meeting location and arrival instructions.
Wear comfortable activewear or swimwear suitable for the conditions. Bring sunscreen, water, a towel and a change of clothes.
Classes are intended for teenagers and adults. The most suitable setup will be determined according to each participant’s age, ability and confidence on the water.
